# Account security

> Personal details, appearance, sign-in security, and how to delete your account

Open **Settings → Preferences** to manage your own account — the personal details, appearance, and security settings tied to you, separate from any one workspace's settings.

## Personal details

Update your profile picture, first and last name, phone number, and job title. The picture accepts PNG or JPEG, at least 256×256px, and is optimized automatically on upload.

Your email address changes separately: enter the new address, then confirm it from a link sent to that address before the change takes effect.

## Password

Set a new password for your account at any time — you don't need to enter your current one first, since changing it requires an active signed-in session. The new password must be at least 8 characters.

## Appearance and language

Switch between **System**, **Light**, and **Dark** to control how Famulor looks; System follows your device setting. Each option shows a small preview with your platform's logo — on a white-label domain, the reseller's own logo.

Your language is a personal choice too: in the picker next to **Language**, leave it on **Automatic** — which follows the workspace default, then the platform default and your location — or pick a language that applies to you from then on, whatever the workspace uses.

<Note>
  **Timezone** and **Date Format** are workspace-wide rather than personal — owners and admins change them under [Workspace profile](/settings/workspaces#workspace-profile), and everyone else sees them read-only.
</Note>

## Browser notifications

Where your browser supports it, turn on **Browser notifications** to get privacy-safe alerts on this browser or installed web app — new History activity, and incoming or missed [Famulor Loop](/telephony/famulor-loop) calls, depending on what your workspace has available. Each toggle applies only to the device and browser where you enabled it.

## Low-credit warnings

Under **Settings → Preferences**, you can enable a personal warning when your available balance reaches a chosen credit threshold. Choose browser push, email, or both. Browser push still requires notifications to be enabled on the current device.

This preference belongs to your account and follows you across all workspaces. It does not change another member's warning preferences.

User-owned API keys and OAuth tokens can read or update the same setting through `GET` or `PATCH /api/v1/me/credit-notifications` with the `settings:read` or `settings:write` scope. MCP connections provide `get_credit_notification_preferences` and `update_credit_notification_preferences`. Workspace service-account credentials cannot access personal preferences.

## Passkeys

A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN instead of your password. Your device or password manager stores it (for example iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, or 1Password), and it is bound to the Famulor site, helping protect you from fake sign-in pages.

To add one, open **Settings → Preferences → Passkeys**, select **Add a passkey**, and confirm on your device. You can add several — for example one per computer or phone. Next time, select **Sign in with a passkey** on the sign-in page and pick your account; you don't need to enter an email address or password.

* If two-factor authentication is on, you still confirm a code after signing in with a passkey.
* The list shows when each passkey was added and last used. **Remove** stops a passkey from working immediately; also delete it from your device or password manager so it is no longer offered there. Your other sign-in methods keep working.
* Passkeys are available in the Famulor web app. They are not offered on white-label domains.

User-owned API keys and OAuth tokens can list or remove passkeys with `GET` or `DELETE /api/v1/settings/passkeys` and the `settings:read` or `settings:write` scope. MCP connections provide `list_passkeys` and `delete_passkey`. Adding a passkey always needs your device, so it is only possible in the app.

## Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication adds a second step after the password. You can enable either or both methods:

<Frame caption="Settings → Preferences → Two-factor authentication: select Enable authenticator app to begin setup.">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/ouraicall/bijtnxODi_f3mm69/images/guide-ui/security-authenticator.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=bijtnxODi_f3mm69&q=85&s=d30978d9ac25d6df58d7f52dae9b3a46" alt="Two-factor authentication settings with Enable authenticator app button" width="2130" height="178" data-path="images/guide-ui/security-authenticator.png" />
</Frame>

* **Authenticator app:** scan the QR code with any TOTP-compatible app and enter its current 6-digit code.
* **Email codes:** confirm the first 6-digit code sent to your account email. Future sign-ins send a new code that expires after 10 minutes.

Turning a method on or off always requires a successful code confirmation. If both methods are enabled, the sign-in screen lets you switch between them.

Email-code messages use the email delivery settings of the brand where you sign in.

<Note>
  For security, MFA can only be changed while you are signed in interactively. API keys and MCP connections cannot change the account's sign-in policy.
</Note>

## Where you are signed in

The same Preferences page lists devices with active sessions. The list shows the browser, operating system, last activity time, and IP address when available.

Choose **Sign out** on a device you do not recognise. This immediately revokes access for that session.

For privacy and security, access and refresh tokens are never shown in the device list.

## Cookie settings

Under **Cookies & Privacy**, choose **Cookie Settings** to review or change which optional cookies may be used in this browser. Necessary cookies always stay on. Your choice is stored per browser, not per account.

## Delete your account

Deleting your account permanently removes it and **every workspace you own** — not just the one you're currently in. Workspaces you've only joined, without owning, are unaffected.

Select **Delete account and workspace** to start. If any of your workspaces still has active phone numbers, they are listed at this step — release them under **Settings → Phone numbers** first, then try again.

Confirm you understand the consequences, then delete. Removal typically completes within 10 days; contact support under Help within that window if you want to stop it.
